The Digital Divide in Africa

Africa has the lowest internet penetration rate among all continents, at just 39.3 percent, according to Internet World Stats published at the end of 2019.

This poses a significant problem as it highlights the digital divide here which could greatly impact the development of Africa with the rest of the world.

We focus on assisting with projects that combine a more integrative approach towards the provision of technology coupled with infrastructure and teaching recruitment support to facilitate a wide range of needs subject to the requirements of specific regions.

Donate your working IT equipment

We understand that providing ICT supplies to Africa is a more complex challenge which is why we aim to partner with schools and businesses here in the UK to make sure support is delivered in a way that can actually make a real impact.

By refurbishing and distributing donated computers in Africa, we aim to bridge the digital gap and to help lift Africa out of poverty by increasing opportunity and greatly enhancing their ability to learn, work and progress.

Step 3

Securely package your laptops, desktops and technology into cardboard boxes and scroll down to arrange a collection from your address or schedule a date to drop-off at our Processing Centre in Hertfordshire. Write your booking reference number on all your boxes.

At our Processing Centre, our Tech Team check and refurbish your items in line with Microsoft Refurbisher standards. All data on devices are securely wiped and we issue you an e-certificate of data wipe. Suitable devices are shipped to projects in Africa while others are sent to our partner charity shops.

When your devices arrive in Africa, they are distributed to students and teachers to supplement their teaching and learning needs. We also publish detailed impact reports on our website when received from our projects.
